There are many ways to improve website usability; in fact it can be quite overwhelming. We approach usability in a step by step fashion. We’ll tackle the most important factors that are turning potential buyers away first and move into the details if necessary.
Here are just some of the methods to improve website usability:
- Using heat maps to track what your website visitors are trying to do on your website
- The type of font and font size you use is also important. Your content must be easy and pleasant to read
- The content on your site should also be easy to understand. If you are an expert you might need to dumb down your copy for uneducated prospects to understand your message
- When someone comes to your site they are not interested in reading a novel, they want to quickly learn if you are a business they want to work with so make sure you are concise and to the point with your important messages
- We would look at removing any unnecessary information from your site; content that clutters the path for a website visitor to take the actions you want them to like signing up for a newsletter or buying something!
- Photos, graphs and charts are worth a thousand words. People are visual and if your message can be more easily delivered in a picture then this is the way to go. Great photos are critical to selling product.
That is just skimming the surface, sorry to overwhelm you. We take a simple approach to determining what to work on; if it is getting in the way of selling more products we will address it immediately. If it is something that can be addressed when we are getting into the fine tuning of our work together, we will do it later.
